Since its beginnings in 1889 when Walter Scott Lenox established the Lenox Ceramic Art Company, not as a traditional pottery or factory, but rather as an art studio, the name Lenox has been synonymous with one-of-a-kind artwares, true collectibles, fit for museums, but created to take their place in dining rooms across America. While for more than a century and a quarter, Lenox tableware has graced millions of tables in the US and abroad, examples of their works also are proudly displayed in palaces, museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Institution, and the White House.
In the early 20th century, Lenox added the first standardized patterns to its custom-designed product line, and the company renamed Lenox, Inc. has since added highly sought-after giftware, stemware, and flatware to its products lines, and has created additional classic dinnerware in not only its traditional china, but in stoneware, earthenware, and its own resilient ceramic composition, Lenoxite.
Lenox continues to follow the vision of Walter Scott Lenox and produces artistic pieces for the table, the home and gift-giving, employing both modern technology and centuries-old craft techniques, including piercing, jeweling, and etching. Lenox is today the first choice for fine tableware. See our selection of Lenox Dinnerware Collections Each collection contains individually priced pieces, beginning at the lowest price shown |
